Snowmobiling

Ride into the wild

Land O’ Lakes is the start of trail adventures limited only by the size of your fuel tank and your appetite for fun and adventure. The community is located in the heart of some of the best snowmobiling in the world, straddling the border of two incredible state systems. With Land O’ Lakes as your basecamp, you can explore Wisconsin’s incredible trails to the south and head north across the border for nearly unlimited riding in Michigan.

Wisconsin’s network of trails will take you virtually anywhere in the state. For great nearby backcountry snowmobiling, head to the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest, which offers nearly 400 miles of marked trails. Eagle River, which hosts the World Championship Snowmobile Derby, is a fun day trip from Land O’ Lakes.

Across the border in Michigan, you find thousands of more miles of riding. You can ride all the way to Copper Harbor in the north, or to the shore of Lake Huron in the east. Great places to explore near Land O’ Lakes include Lake Gogebic and beyond, to Lake Superior and the Porcupine Mountains.

While the wilderness around Land O’ Lakes is vast, you will find places that sell food and gasoline that will keep you fueled up, allowing you to plan an adventure as grand as the trails.
