The Veterans of Foreign Wars Statelline Post 8400, American Legion Post 424, and American Veterans (AMVETS) are three of the non-profit veteran associations located in Land O’Lakes, Wisconsin. They assist local veterans and their families in the Land O’Lakes, Wisconsin and Watersmeet, Michigan areas. Their members are made up of honorably discharged veterans and active duty veterans fro all branches of the services. Chartered by Congress to assist local veterans in all aspects of their lives by providing financial, social, and emotional support and to help secure veterans’ rights and benefits for their service to their country. It can be anything from helping complete disability claims to finding a job. Thse veteran organizations has done a large amount of good not only for the local veterans but also for the local community. Their annual fundraisers and community participation in planned annual events have provided donations to veteran and community recipients (a list o of donations will be provided upon requests).
